In AmE indica la parte iniziale di un articolo di cronaca che fornisce al lettore gli elementi sostanziali della notizia. In BrE il termine usato è INTRO.
- Il lead di un articolo è molto importante perché deve catturare l’attenzione del lettore sulla notizia trattata.
- Sebbene la regola generale dice che si dovrebbe rispondere a tutte le 5W, pochi lead in realtà hanno questa caratteristica.
