Si dice di un pezzo giornalistico quando non viene pubblicato.
- Il suo articolo è stato cestinato dal blog e successivamente gli è stato chiesto di postarlo nuovamente senza link o riferimenti a partiti politici.
- Prima di mettere in pagina l’intervista ha proposto al caporedattore di cestinare l'articolo e di farlo rielaborare da qualcun altro perché, a suo avviso, non era completo.

TO TRASH/TO KILL A STOR
- If you want to remove the article completely you have to trash it and then empty the trash, because until you leave it just in “trashed state”, it will remain published on the home page.
- This week I killed a story about the battle after a senior military officer told me it contained information that would be helpful to the enemy.
